The City of Lodi, Wisconsin, or "peaceful valley," was incorporated on November 6, 1941 and is located in the heart of scenic south central Wisconsin, Columbia County. Lodi is situated in a beautiful setting among gently rolling hills near the Wisconsin River. Spring Creek, a very popular local trout stream, runs from the Lodi marsh, meandering through downtown Lodi and emptying into the inviting Lake Wisconsin. Approximately 25 miles from the State Capital in Madison, Lodi is currently home to about 3,000 residents.

Lodi residents enjoy several beautiful City Parks and a free public pool in Goeres Park. Its newly-constructed state of the art middle and high schools make Lodi an excellent home for families with children.

Lodi, home town of former TV hero Tom Wopat of the popular series "Dukes of Hazzard," is nicknamed The Home of Suzy the Duck because of its constant influx of wild ducks during migration seasons. Where Spring Creek crosses Hwy 113 (Main Street) in downtown Lodi, there is a small recreational area where visitors can buy handfulls of dried corn from vending machines to feed the ubiquitous ducks. In this area is a small stone basket and, every year, a duck will inevitably build a nest there. That lucky duck is nicknamed "Suzy" for that year.

Lodi is one of three cities in the state of Wisconsin to have it's own City Fair, beginning on the first Thursday of July and runs through Sunday. Exhibits include livestock judging, school artwork, baking contests, and local organization display booths. There are carnival rides and games. Attractions include tractor pulls and the hugely popular demolition derby, followed by a live music beer garden.

Lake Wisconsin, a prominent natural feature just outside Lodi, is a reservoir on the Wisconsin River in southern Wisconsin. Occupying parts of both Columbia and Sauk Counties, Lake Wisconsin was formed by melting of the area of a prehistoric glacier called the Driftless Zone, which extended into central Wisconsin. As the glacier melted, an ice dam formed the lake, which was approximately the same size as the Great Salt Lake in Utah, and up to 150 feet deep in spots at the time. The eventual sudden bursting of the ice dam caused a catastrophic flood that formed the Dells of the Wisconsin River in pre-existing Cambrian sandstone on the south edge of the lake. The resulting flood lowered the level of the lake to approximately 50 feet. Today, Lake Wisconsin provides flood control and is a popular destination for residents and visitors to enjoy recreational boating and fishing.
