Sun Prairie's park system consists of 32 parks covering 400 acres. Two nearby lakes, Lake Mendota and Lake Monona, provide many recreational opportunities, including boating, water skiing, fishing, wildlife programs, and camping.

Festivities abound and corn is served in big tubs, and people come from all over to grab several, salt and butter them, and enjoy corn on the cob. The festival is a charming reminder of life in rural Midwestern America.
